According to India's Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Mr Nitin Gadkari, travel time from Chennai to Bangalore will reduce to two hours. The Chennai Bangalore Expressway is a part of the 26 green expressways to be built in the country in the next three years. Once built, it will only take two hours for people to travel from Chennai to Bangalore. Currently, the travel time between Chennai and Bangalore (Chennai to Bangalore) is five to six hours via road.
The Chennai Bangalore Expressway will bring it down to two hours. In July 2022, Nitin Gadkari in the Lok Sabha stated that out of 10 development packages, six packages for the Chennai Bangalore Expressway are under construction. He further specified that the project is divided into ten different packages. With this, the Government plans to complete the expressway by March 2024. Our Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, laid the foundation for this project in May 2022. As the first expressway project (Bangalore to Chennai) in South India, it is expected to boost the logistics movement in Chennai and Bangalore even further.
